Want to help Windows Phones delight hundreds of millions of users? Are you a proven technical leader who can handle challenging business problems? Do you work well within fast paced, ambiguous situations where you need to define the problem, goal, solution and see it through to the end? We are proud of the Windows Phones we've built, but we need to solve critical technical and business problems to get them into more people's hands.
Our team has two major engineering challenges: 1) Ensure Windows Phone is capable of efficient, fast commercialization by OEMs at Mobile Operators (MO's); 2) Ensure hardware and software work together to delight customers and increase both the brand value of Windows Phone and success for partners. This Individual Contributor (IC) PM position will join a team that is driving and solving critical planning and technology problems. You will do so by working across groups both inside and outside the company and aligning teams with varied missions and resources.
This IC PM will be responsible for leading the engineering engagement with a significant MO partner building Windows Phone. Your mission is to drive collaborative engineering between Microsoft and the partner company to repeatedly deliver a portfolio of high-quality, industry-leading devices that enjoy commercial success. Influencing engineering at both Microsoft and the partner will be key. Strong communications skills expected. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Program Manager with a strong leadership track record of understanding complex systems involving many partners, creating a vision to drive mutual success and working hard to actually deliver against that vision.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years product development engineering experience with at least 5 years as a program manager

- Strong cross-group communication and collaboration skills with internal and external partners

- Ability to understanding a range of complex HW/SW technologies
- Required: BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, MBA a plus
- Mobile industry experience
- Limited international travel expected
