The NetSec Security Science team is looking for a developer in test to help our team deliver reliable solutions and technologies to be used on the front lines of today's security landscape. We're looking for smart, driven individuals capable of taking on a new problem space in order to propose, build, and deliver the next big thing to help organizations protect their assets and users. Your work will determine our ability to effectively protect Microsoft's corporate network, our cloud services and users, and enterprise customers. You'll work with a variety of security experts across different teams, from those focused on software exploits against Microsoft products, others focused on malware analysis and identification, to operational analysts focusing on Real Time attack scenarios.

Our team will look to you to help provide critical feedback at design time, to produce test plans that allow you to cover our most important tool scenarios, to create test automation support wherever practical, and to provide end-to-end validation.

Responsibilities:
Produce test automation suites exercising API-level, as well as end-to-end scenarios.
Provide critical feedback to our design efforts allowing us to minimize unnecessary design complexity, and provide highly-testable designs.
Participate in design and code reviews of peer team members.
Actively contribute to the formulation and execution of team development and test processes.
Proactively learn about our security environment to help ensure that our releases help us solve real security problems.

Core Qualifications:
2+ years testing experience.
Passionate about software quality.
Strong communication, team coordination, and leadership skills.
Strong problem solving and design abilities.
Proficiency in C/C++ or C#, demonstrated competencies in areas related to data structures and algorithms.
Strong analytical and debugging skills; experienced using Windbg for live debugging and crash-dump analysis; comfortable in native and managed environments.
Familiar with Win32 and .NET development.
Experienced in Visual Studio\TFS based environments.
Experience working in the following messaging oriented environments: Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), RESTful web services, message oriented frameworks.
Understanding of distributed and service based application architectures.
Familiarity with web development (ASP.NET, AJAX, HTML, etc.)
Familiarity with T-SQL or comparable RDBMS platform languages.
Familiarity with formal software design principles, for example, OOP and related design principles.
BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in Microsoft Test Manager (MTM).
Exposure to map-reduce based technologies, for example, Hadoop, or Cosmos.
Familiarity or experience working in low-level fields subject matters, for example, any work relating to OS internals, or file system forensics.
Familiarity with common security operations systems, for example, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Security Incident Event Management systems (SIEM), anti-virus log collection systems, etc.
Knowledgeable about modern security related subjects and trends, for example, Advanced Persistent Threat (APT), rootkits, Spear Phishing, ROP, heap-spray, etc.
