Division: MS Business Solutions (Dynamics)
For the last five years, the HealthVault team (http://healthvault.com) has been focused on helping families take better care of themselves and work more effectively with doctors and caregivers to live happier, healthier lives. It's a tough problem that doesn't get solved overnight, but it's incredibly rewarding and fun, and the foundation Microsoft has built is paying off as health reform, aging populations and other megatrends make success inevitable (at least that's what we think).
Recently, it's also become obvious that family needs around health have a direct analog in the world of education. If you've ever applied for college or been part of that process, had a kid in school, given a recommendation, tried to coordinate tutoring, taken an online course --- you'll understand what we're talking about. A cloud-based, sharable lifetime educational record has the potential to not just make things way more convenient, but to fundamentally change the way teachers, students and parents collaborate together.
We think that's pretty cool. So we're taking the HealthVault core concepts into education, and we need your help to do it. We're looking for a senior program manager that can jump in on day one to help build scenarios, work with key internal and external partners, identify gaps in the existing codebase and create a plan that gets us to a launch sooner rather than later. We're a small team and we all work on many things, so you'll also work on health and the foundational technology for both domains.
You'll need to have at least a few years working to define product requirements and specifications, ideally on a platform product --- and you're going to get a lot of input from a lot of different stakeholders, so you've got to be able to boil it down to the important stuff. The job is technical, so being able to be a part of design discussions is important. You should have experience interacting with customers, and if you've got experience with education or healthcare technology, that's a huge plus.
This is a unique opportunity, and needs a unique individual that is able to create clarity out of noise, champion their work and make lots of tradeoffs between the ideal and the real. It'll be a ton of fun.
