The IT Portfolio Management team in IT is a newly formed team that is responsible for the strategy planning cycle across the whole of Microsoft IT. It focuses on:
Determining the IT Strategic Plan, ensuring this is directly aligned with the business strategy, and that this strategic plan is cascaded into the IT organization
Planning and committing the work required to achieve the Strategic Plan
Committing the resources required to support the work necessary to achieve their Strategic Plan
Managing the resultant portfolio view of the work necessary to achieve our Strategic Plan, and tracking the value delivered
The IT strategy Lead is senior role within this team and is accountable for defining and committing the strategic plans for IT working with the IT Leadership Team. The role also involves facilitating the enterprise level governance of the IT strategy and associated investments, cascading strategic goals and direction into the wider IT organization to ensure alignment on execution, and supporting the developing of the core IT Portfolio management capabilities for IT
The role requires an experienced senior business/IT professional with proven strategic experience, who will:
Drive strategic goal setting with the leadership team in order to identify a set of specific & measurable strategic goals for MSIT.
Facilitate and develop the newly formed IT strategy and investment board which has been established to respond to business strategies by aligning IT strategies and goals, and committing the associated investments
Work with the IT leaders to create their long term strategic plan while ensuring alignment with Microsoft's IT's overall strategic goals
Manage the evolution of the IT portfolio management capabilities across IT in order to build unified capabilities across strategic planning, portfolio planning and resource planning

Executive maturity, with an ability to engage a senior leadership team in a dynamic results oriented dialog.
An open & confident communications style, coupled with the ability to listen and adapt delivery to suit the audience and the environment
Strong analytical skills with an ability to filter out the important and salient points to drive strategic decisions
Required Qualifications
10+ years of proven Strategy development experience in a senior leadership environment
Skilled in translating ideas into clear, high impact, communications
Strong combination of financial, product, and business capabilities
Strong people-relationship experience
Organizational agility and credibility with strong impact and influence skills at the senior C-level
Strong facilitation skills
University/college degree-required

Demonstrated track record of exceeding established goals on a consistent basis
