The Time Warner Cable office currently seeks a Sr. VDI/DaaS Engineer for our Technology and Network Operations Division. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:
Our VDI Engineers are responsible for providing daily technical support of our Desktone Cloud platform, responding to customer issues as identified in the Remedy Call Management System.

You will be responsible for responding to Remedy tickets in an expedient manner, providing clear and informative status entries, resolution entries and quality assurance closure with the customer. Will work to identify the root cause of any customer issue and strive to incorporate solutions that are correct, with zero rework. Provide leadership and mentoring pertaining to customer relations, technical expertise, effective communication and teamwork.
The Systems Admin, Virtual Desktop: will be in charge of maintaining a Linux and Windows environment contain over 4,500 physical servers.

Key responsibilities include:

Assist the operations team with general infrastructure tasks, such as configuring server, configuring network storage systems, and install server virtualization software.
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory, GPO, DNS, and DHCP services.
Strong knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting Windows and Unix Operating Systems
Document process and procedures with an eye to streamlining operations.
Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation.
Manage space allocation and perform basic troubleshooting on Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached storage (NASs) devices from HP (StorageWorks), EMC, Netapp, IBM XIV

Job Requirements:

3 + years' experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems and services, especially Solaris 9/10, Red Hat 5, VMware, as well as, Windows Server 2003/2008

Hardware: HP Servers (DL, ML Class servers), HP Storages (such as EVA, D, P and MSAs)
Expertise with server virtualization such as vSphere/ESX, KVM, Hyper-V, and XenServer
Experience with desktop virtualization products such as Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, VMware View, and Microsoft RDS
Strong L2 switching experience; comfortable with VLANs
Knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols
Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience working directly with customers
Excellent troubleshooting skills around Linux\Windows file systems, TCP connectivity, networking and application integration
Crash Dump Analysis
Monitoring performance, raising concerns related to performance and resolving OS related Performance Issues by OS tuning and making hardware scaling recommendations
Basic backup Administration such as Evault, Avamar and HP Data Protector
Monitoring Tools such as Nagios, BMC Patrol and native SNMP Agents
Basic Windows server administration and support
Preferred Qualifications
RedHat Linux System Administrator
Microsoft Certified Professional - Windows 2008 or 2010 Server
Experience with maintaining more than 100 Linux/Windows Servers in a production environment.
Experience with EMC Storage Area Network devices, McData Switches, Brocade Switches, CX-Series Storages a plus.
Experience in DNS Management solutions.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent training, education and experience preferred
