IT. Project Manager
This position will be primarily responsible for business analysis and project management of multiple, technical project implementations. This position will require coordination with business and technical teams to facilitate requirements gathering and documentation, project planning and execution, risk identification and mitigation, communication plan development and execution. This position will require strong requirements elicitation and project management skills to deliver successful projects which meet business targets on time, and on budget.
He/she will be responsible for driving the execution of development projects and ensuring delivery per stated objectives and goals. This will require the ability to identify critical success components and key factors within the project definition and schedule, perform risk assessment and management, issue management, change management, scope management and customer/internal stake holder communications. Communication, expectation setting and stakeholder management are key components to success in this position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Management of multiple project initiatives which include development of work plans, budgets, resource estimates, timelines and weekly status reports.
- Work closely with client, business and system integration stakeholders to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Direct and manage the day-to-day operational activities of the project, and project members.
- Prepare project plans, documentation and reports.
- Perform plan, resource and risk analysis. Prepare summary analysis report findings. Provide recommendations for mitigation and execution of stated, agreed plans.
- Closely reviews and interprets all plans, specifications and schedules for each project's scope of work in conjunction with the resources assigned from the business.
- Monitors progress of each project at every phase of the process, using best practice methodologies possible to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Works closely with customers and developers to manage issues, scheduling, etc. as they arise.
- Supports, leads and assists internal customers with requirements definition, project definition and project planning.
- Prepares and submits proper close-out documentation to stakeholders.
- Investigate, analyze and recommend cost, and operational, solutions to business and project issues.
- Lead/facilitate customer sessions with project team for specified project requirements.
- Ensure a smooth transition from the development process to the customer facing project management team through client verification process.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks.
- Work with a diverse group including business users, developers, etc.
- Establish, follow and enforce documentation standards.
- Proactive personality with a proven track record of delivering on responsibilities and tasks.
- Drive delivery of quality solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in MIS or related field required.
- Minimum 5 years experience in managing large scale Business Intelligence and technology projects.
- PMP Certification highly desired.
- Strong experience managing software upgrades, hardware upgrades, and maintenance projects.
- Experience managing web-based application projects and new development projects with Oracle, Java based technologies.
- Thorough understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Project management skills necessary to prioritize and manage day to day operations, activities and deliverables for a team.
- Proven ability to manage scope and budget, and meet tight implementation schedules.
- Ability to perform risk assessments and determine/execute mitigation plans.
- Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute in a team environment.
- Effective organization and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of an organization, including strong presentation skills.
- Thorough knowledge of business operations and BI Application capabilities, implementation methodologies, deliverable templates, and support procedures.
- Proactive personality with a proven track record of delivering on responsibilities and tasks.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS Office.
- Partnership quality in working with other business leaders to resolve problems and provide leadership on solutions.
