Jr. System Administrator
Job Summary:
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This candidate will participate in technical research and to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This candidate ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and partners.
This candidate will assist project teams with technical issues.
This individual is accountable for the following systems:
Linux and Windows systems that support the existing infrastructure and the operations, support, maintenance and research/development to ensure continual innovation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Day-to-day systems support
Hardware setup and configuration for standard Linux and Windows server/client installations
Working knowledge of Active Directory computing environment
On-call support rotation
Hardware RMAs, break/fix
Qualifications/Requirements:
Red Hat Linux Server installation & configuration (1 year)
Windows 2003, 2008 Server installation & configuration (1 Year)
Active Directory administration and configuration (1-2 Years)
Technology consulting experience, worked at a customer site location, good verbal, written and listening skills
Requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience, requires occasional lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds
Team player-ability to work closely with others
Perform Root Cause analysis
Ability to think clearly and logically while under stress
Ability to diagnose and trace problems
Good time and operating - management skills
Detail oriented
Familiar with technological trends and accounting practices
Organized-ability to handle multiple priorities at one time
Professional attitude and demeanor
Willingness to travel - 0-10%

Education:
Required:
1-3 years related work experience in an Information Technology environment
