As part of the Best Buy Project Delivery Services (PDS) team, this Project Manager role will focus on Infrastructure project responsibilities.
Project Delivery Services is an organization of Best Buy project professionals that work across the business to flexibly meet new needs, manage complex projects and programs, and deliver with excellence so outcomes are achieved.
This role is directly accountable for the outcomes and quality delivery of an assigned portfolio of projects. This includes responsibility for project level financials, schedules, deliverables and issue management.
Position Impact: Programs/Projects, New Business opportunities, cross functional efforts, with direct accountability to Director/Sr.Director/VP/SVP level sponsors. Plays a significant role in shaping the strategic capability agenda for assigned capability/business segment.
Outcome focus & quality delivery
- Works with sponsors to define success criteria and project outcomes
- Establishes project teams, operating, and staffing models for projects
- Provides leadership of overall project aspects including definition of scope, strategy, project financials, schedules, deliverables and issues.
- Defines project roadmap, detailed project plans, and assignment of work-streams
- Provides direction and ensures accountability of Best Buy and external vendor project resources
- Drives communications and alignment between other programs and projects
- Ensures delivery aligns with Best Buy Project Management methodologies and standards
- Establishes overall governance and change request protocols
- Leads change management efforts (training, communication, etc ) where required
Strategic Project Management
- Works with project sponsors and business partners to facilitate the definition of the business strategies.
- Builds strong relationships and collaborates with executive sponsors, program steering committee members, and vendor partners
- Provides strategic direction over any project included in the program portfolio
- Establish strategic metrics/KPI's and monitor progress against them.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business or related field
- 4 or more years of demonstrated experience successfully running large cross-functional technical projects, experience in working with technical and business teams
- 3 or more years of experience managing and having accountability for supervision and work direction of project teams
- 3 or more years of experience leading infrastructure projects, including but not limited to server implementations and upgrades, virtualization, network upgrades and migrations, and data center build-outs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with core infrastructure components and their integration
- Advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, business or related field
- PMP or similar project or product management certification
- 3 or more years of consulting experience
- 3 or more years working in a large corporate environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills including delivery methodology
- Understanding of core data center technologies and concepts.
