This position will play a role on the Best Buy IT team in the Digital Content and Connections Capability area and will be working in a highly dynamic, fast changing and fluid work environment. We are seeking a talented individual for the Technical Lead Manager role to support the Digital Content and Connections Capability Area with a focus on Digital Content, Activations, 3rd party Integration to third party vendors and digital subscription models. This role will be a technical subject matter expert in several service applications, the latest Microsoft technology, custom packages, and new applications.
The Technical Lead is a member of the application delivery team and will be responsible for providing technical expertise and functional knowledge to design, develop and implement secure integrated IT/Business solutions. The purpose of this role is to drive appropriate technical solutions for application integration; view alternatives from an end-to-end integrated perspective and understand the broader implications of technical and business related choices. This person interacts with and must be able to influence other managers, directors and partners throughout the organization. This position will also require general knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies and project management best practices.
Key position responsibilities include:
- This role must effectively partner and/or lead teams with various staffing models of internal and external on-shore and off-shore resources in order to deliver successful solutions
- Lead design workshops to enable the preparation of detailed functional specifications for translation into structured technical specifications
- Provide input to the cross system integration design
- Creation of system data flow definitions and diagrams
- Define and deliver non-functional requirements definitions
- Understand and document the technical specifications/limitations including application capacity
- Create technical conversion specifications which include data mapping from existing source, transaction volumes, security and performance requirements
- Support testing activities by assisting in root cause analysis and by providing recommendations to resolve all known issues
- Support service introduction of new releases into production by providing technical knowledge transfer to the support teams
- Create the technical components of the deployment plan and lead the technical team through the deployment process
- Provide post implementation escalation and communication support through the warranty period
- Provide input into TCO optimization
The person seeking this role must have the ability to quickly understand the applications within Services and all of the systems' behaviors and interactions. In addition this person must be able to tackle macro level problems and dive into the different parts of the systems effectively as necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
- 8 years' experience in one or more of the following areas, with demonstrated progression of responsibilities:
o Application Delivery
o Application Management
o Business Process Reengineering
o Product Design and Product Strategy
o Program or Project Management
o Solution Architecture
- 4 or more years of experience with WebLogic, JBOSS, SaaS, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), REST, SOAP Services and Java technologies
- 2 more years of experience working with business applications, underlying architecture and product lifecycles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, business or related field
- 1 or more years of experience with Web Development/Web Architecture
- 1 or more years of experience with Digital Rights Management (DRM)
- 2 or more years of experience Software Activation platforms/Keycode management
- 4 or more years in a Technical Lead role
- 4 or more years of prior experience with and a deep understanding of integrated supply chain, forward and reverse logistics, and master data management system blueprints
- 2 or more years of experience at a manager level in a multi-channel brand business environment
