Description
Responsible for designing relational databases in support of operational applications. Involved with physical database design, including creation and review. Consults with developers and DBAs on issues, best practices, and transitions from logical to physical design. Resolves database issues and recommends solutions.

Responsibilities:

Unix/Oracle
- SQL Tuning and Troubleshooting of a transactional environment
- Ability to balance multiple project timelines concurrently
- Provide RDBMS subject matter expertise to data modeler in support of the
development of the logical data model
- Proven ability to take project requirements and the logical data model and
create the following:
- a physical data model optimized for Unix/Oracle environment
- a document representing: the database design that provides the solutions to
database related nonfunctional and functional requirements
- details how the implementation will conform to required corporate standards
- Understanding of Mainframe best practices and ability to guide development
teams in choosing techniques that optimally fulfil requirements
- Ability to explain to cross functional teams the decisions involved in
determining the physical data model and the database design details how the implementation will conform to required corporate standards
- Understanding of Mainframe best practices and ability to guide development

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience as an Oracle DBA in Unix/Linux environments.
- 2+ years experience with Erwin or similar data modelling tool

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar technical degree
- Oracle certified professional (OCP)
- 5 years of experience as a production Oracle DBA
- Oracle 10g and/or 11g database/DBA experience
