Java Software Engineer

The Java Software Engineer performs an instrumental role in the development of new SOA systems which ingest, transcodes, and distributes digital video media worldwide.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

• Develop reliable and high performance web services.
• Interact with Architects and other project team members to understand requirements and produce Technical Design Specifications for assigned projects.
• Provide status for all assignments and escalate any project risks or issues to the project manager and management team.
• Demonstrate flexibility and perseverance to ensure the team and the company succeeds.

Experience Required:

• Development experience 3+ years in Java development and relational databases.
• Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills.

Experience Pluses

• Experience with WSO2, BPEL, ESB.
• Experience with SOA Web Services (eg REST, SOAP) a plus.
• Strong unit testing, integration testing and system testing abilities, including automated testing techniques.
• Experience designing and developing Real Time and multi-threaded systems.
• Experience designing enterprise scalable applications with high availability, security, and manageability.
• Experience developing solutions for the broadcast media market is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Completion of Bachelor's level degree program in Computer Science or related field of study.
• 3+ years significant hands-on Java development experience.
• Excellent problem analysis skills and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with some ambiguity and drive toward completion of technical requirements.
