Job Description

Rackspace is looking for an experienced SharePoint Developer to join our team and work from home. The ideal candidate will have experience developing SharePoint solutions. It is imperative that the developer understands SharePoint and associated technologies. The candidate should bring their own best practices to the table. The desire to push the envelope and always be at the forefront of the technology is a must. Web based product development using .NET experience is a plus. This role will work on both customer SharePoint solutions and internal products that integrate with SharePoint. Strong consideration will be given to someone who has experience working with different cloud technologies and platforms.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Implements high quality, scalable, and extendable SharePoint solutions. Maintains awareness of migration and implementation plans that address both tactical and strategic needs. Designs and implements development workflow. Codes, tests, and implements solutions in a SharePoint environment. Takes direction from management in implementing solutions. Conducts unit testing for all assigned deliverables. Works from high level requirements through detailed specifications, prototype, software deployment, and administration. Analyzes technologies, technical processes and/or functions, documents resultant findings, identifies improvement opportunities, creates specifications, and facilitates implementation.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:

- Experience with major operating systems, networks, security and remote acces matters.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming.
- Strong technical, logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of programming, systems analysis, as well as quality assurance, prototyping, construction, integration, and migration functions.
- Strong MS platform knowledge and skills.
- Full lifecycle experience in architecting large scale applications with scalability.
- Knowledge and experience in developing, customizing, and implementing software solutions.
- Strong customer service skills and demonstrated ability to build professional relationships.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of the business.
- Excellent understanding of business requirements and IT strategies.

JOB COMPLEXITY:

- Supports all phases of implementation of SharePoint project sites including integration with IDB Back End databases using SharePoint BCS (to connect WebServices and Databases),
- SharePoint enterprise components, and customizations using C#.
- Creates and configures SharePoint sites and templates based on requirements.
- Creates and configures master pages, page layouts, and CSS in order to maintain or expand existing branding or create new ones.
- Performs code and bug fixes on existing web parts and composite SharePoint applications.
- Documents technical specifications, known issues, and technical lessons learned to contribute to the team expertise.
