Job Description

The Foundation software development and automation team is growing and taking on new challenges and we need a passionate Software Developer to grow with us. We are a highly effective, disciplined, agile based, empowered team that is responsible for creating and maintaining services that facilitate the communication to Rackspace network and managed backup devices. Our environment is a highly scalable, distributed solution composed of Linux, MongoDB clusters, with Erlang, and RoR code, that allows us to provide zero downtime releases. All of these systems are controlled and directed by our utilization of Puppet. If you think that you have what it takes and want to step up to the challenge we would love to hear from you.

The developer will be responsible for the following
A focus on quality and testing
A commitment to iterative development with frequent releases
Gathering user requirement sessions and turn those into code that is wicked sweet

Job Requirements

Job Requirements: (Stuff you'll need to be a star)
Cleanliness and maintainability of a Ruby on Rails code base
Automated deployments using Git and Capistrano
Improving and supporting the Rails Front End for our internal customers
Experience deploying applications to Ubuntu or Red Hat Linux
Javascript skills to create complex, interactive sites
Knowing what -unobtrusive Javascript- means and having used jQuery with Rails
Solid experience developing web applications (3+ years)
Strong Ruby on Rails development experience (1+ years)

Bonus points will be given for:
Working with a MongoDB cluster
Experience working with Cisco firewalls or load balancers
Design a database structure
Knowledge of functional programming and use of a functional language like Erlang
Being able to speak knowledgeably about: Nginx, Passenger, Ruby 1.9, Rails 3, Rspec and Cucumber
