PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

We are looking for a Software Developer in Test who will be testing software for large-scale cloud-based services.
When you find a bug in a software project does everything else become unimportant until it gets fixed? Does it bother you to no end when you hear that features are being manually tested? As a Software Developer in Test at Rackspace you are given the challenge of building test automation for Cloud Servers. Level lll, Software Developer in Test #XXXXXX FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

o 4+ years of experience in Software Development with a focus on Software Quality Assurance and Software Testing
o 2+ years of coding experience in an at least one of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Java, C#, C, or VBScript
o Excellent knowledge of Object Oriented programming
o Strong knowledge of web protocols, networking and systems
o Demonstrated working proficiency of in refactoring code and iterative development
o Demonstrated working proficiency of XML, XSD, Json, WSDL and Soap
o Working knowledge of Cloud Computing concepts
o Ability to work independently, triage issues, and prioritize tasks
o Strong team player
o Strong understanding of Quality Processes
o Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, interpersonal, and time management skills

JOB COMPLEXITY:

o Experience with continuous integration and delivery concepts
o Familiarity with advanced software/testing methodologies such as BDD
o Experience with Agile Methodologies (Scrum, XP, Lean, Kanban, etc.)

SUPERVISION: Operates under minimal supervision, with latitude for independent action.

EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience. Requires 5-10 years experience in the areas of test automation development.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: General office environment. High level of stress may occur. No special physical demands required.
