We are looking for the best and brightest for this role as they will be instrumental in helping to design the future of a highly configurable, high volume application platform that will support multiple market applications as well as core Business Intelligence functions.

This individual will play a vital role in Active's largest and most important project through leadership, direction and mentoring to support over 100 developers. This is an exciting technical leadership role where coding expertise is needed and is an opportunity for growth for someone that wants to stay in a technical career path.

Responsibilities:
-Hands-on development, being able to deliver sophisticated, high-quality solutions in a timely fashion
-Ability to create architectural artifacts, documentation and training of architectural patterns and solutions
-Plan, lead and implement projects that span from a few days to six months
-Drive improvements and processes behind architectural consistency and software productivity

Required Skills:
-3+ years of HTML experience including HTML5
-3+ years of JavaScript and CSS
-3+ years of Java experience

Desired Skills:
-Experience with Java based frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, CXF)
-Previous experience building high-traffic web sites
-One or more Scripting language (python, ruby, etc.)
-UML (familiar with the majority of diagram types)
-Expert troubleshooter with a deep understanding of performance tuning of Java applications on Unix
-Familiar with architectural solutions that span or involve enterprise, middleware, service buses, fat and Thin Client user interfaces, SOA, event driven, transaction processing (OLTP), data warehousing and workflow
-Proven experience working on complex, mission-critical projects
-Experience with Flex, AJAX, Scala and Oracle
