Job Description:

The Network Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and building of hardware and software systems to meet customer needs and specific program requirements. The selected candidate will interface with customers as well as other team members in both CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Job Description:

- This position requires technology knowledge in network engineering design and maintenance as well as the ability to design/architect solutions.

- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for the network architecture

- Support planning and execution of hardware and software integration, upgrades, testing, and maintenance.

- Provide detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet customer's needs

- Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware/software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, encryption devices, switches, etc

- Perform engineering troubleshooting/problem solving at the system and component levels

- Implement tools and assist users with monitoring performance to identify and optimize system infrastructure

- Provide advanced technical analyses of network challenges and problems; develop/identify technical solutions in response to customer needs

Required Experience

- Solid understanding of Cisco routing protocols and knowledgeable of current COTS solutions.

- Experience with implementation of DISA security Information Assurance/Certification and Accreditation (IA/C&A) requirements

- Familiar with ATM, MPLS, T-carrier, QoS technologies (ADNS experience a plus)

- Experience with VPN remote access devices, Cisco Routers and switches, and Microsoft Operating Systems (eg Server 2003 or 2008, Vista, Win7)

- Strong problem-solving skills as they relate to analysis, troubleshooting, and isolation of complex issues.

- Must have the ability to work well with others and balance the needs of all levels of users and IT stakeholders, including IT staff and management

- Working knowledge of installation, configuration, backup and maintenance of Cisco Switches and Routers in an enterprise environment, both with and without enterprise network management software.

- Recent experience with U.S. Navy networks

Required Experience:

Qualifications:
- Must possess active DoD Secret security clearance

Education and Experience:

- BA (or 3 years' experience in lieu of) and 4-6+ years' experience desired

Desired Certifications:

- CCNA and Security+ certifications

- CCNP or other advanced Cisco certification
