Windows and Linux Server Support
For this contract position with a world-renowned computer manufacturing company, the individual will perform on-Site Server room support. S/He will be integrated in the client's support processes and receive service requests.
Tasks include the following:
- Hardware support (troubleshooting) for Servers including replacement of defective hardware
- Monitoring of Servers
- Initial installation of Servers (including BIOS-, Firmware-, iLO-Update)
- Physical connection of Servers to the network (patching)
- Documentation in the tools designated
- Acceptance of new Servers and integration into server room
- Retirement of Servers and preparation of disposal
- Relocation of server systems
- Escort service inside the data center
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years related work experience
- Solid network administration and troubleshooting skills, including hands-on experience with a variety of hardware platforms running Linux operating systems
- Server-level administration skills with Windows and Linux (or other UNIX flavor)
- Knowledge of TCP and networking principles
- A+ REQUIRED
- Must be able to pass 10 year criminal background check, drug screen
- Capable of lifting 70lbs.
