The LMS (Learning Management System) application known as Open University that is used throughout our client's Global Manufacturing division has been upgraded to Saba, a cloud technology application supported by separate systems including a LCMS (Learning Content Management System), VLE (Virtual Learning Environment), Cognos (general reporting environment), and Query Studio (specialized reporting environment). Installed in LMS is the compliance-intensive Manufacturing Learning Portfolio consisting of nearly 9,000 learning activities and assessments linked to Learners using over 3,000 Alternate Roles. Because this is mandatory learning driven by regulatory requirements, weekly compliance metrics must be produced as well as bi-weekly Training Needed Emails and a continuous effort to rationalize and optimize the learning portfolio. Expectations of this role will be to provide the technical guidance, formulate the Saba-specific solutions, write reports using Cognos and Query Studio, and operate the Training Needed Email Engine to satisfy Manufacturing requirements.

Critical skills include mastery-level use of Saba, Microsoft Access and Excel, Cognos, Query Studio, and other supporting tools to extract, transform, and load large volumes of data with high accuracy (100% expected, especially in light of compliance requirements). In particular, the skills associated with the "care and feeding" of the Training Needed Email engine is critical because it is an open shop application which has been globalized to service all businesses. These skills include: 1) the ability to define, run, download, and transform large Cognos reports, 2) the ability to maintain and continuously enhance the Training Needed Email Engine which is programmed using Microsoft Access, 3) produce notifications and supporting reports which are published bi-weekly, 4) support inquires and trouble calls associated the resulting emails which currently exceed 90,000 per run (higher numbers expected going forward).

The LMS Advisor will report directly to the Advisor, Learning Manufacturing Portfolio who reports to the Manager, Learning Manufacturing.

The LMS Advisor will be expected to effectively interact with site M Learning Administrators, the Learning Continuous Improvement Project Team, IBM, Saba (Product Advisory Board) and other related projects to accomplish primary job duties.

Provide technical support to the Advisor, Learning Portfolio who double-hats as the Business Lead for Learning Continuous Improvement.

Own the relationships with site Learning Administrators to ensure a win-win outcome (growth opportunity to own the relationship with all Downstream Learning Administrators).

Develop other site and Learning Administrators to enable their effective use of Saba and related systems.

Serve as a resource to ensure the learning portfolio is lean and continuously improved to maximize the utility for all sites

Serve as an extension of the HR Services Desk for trouble calls that involve functionality issues peculiar to with the potential to expand coverage to include all of Downstream.

Provide effective schedule and resource estimates to accomplish job responsibilities, and report status regularly.

Provide Dashboard and other required metrics to demonstrate progress and trend analysis. The objective is to proactively work issues whenever possible to reduce the number of incidents that require reactive solutions.

This role requires an intimate knowledge of LMS applications, with emphasis on Saba (currently 5.5 with plans to upgrade to 7.x.)

The LMS Advisor will be expected to have strong database skills and be able to pull and manipulate data from LMS tables as necessary for migration analysis, eLearning conversion, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of the M learning portfolio.
