Position Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative software technologist to join our fast-paced product development group. If you are a recent college graduate with a BS or MS in Computer Science or related curriculum and would like to work for an industry leader in the online and mobile travel space, your next destination may be Hotwire!

Working on our engineering team means you will play an active role in all aspects of software development. You'll be instrumental in developing a global E-commerce software business as well as have an opportunity to work on unique challenges and emerging technologies in the expanding online travel industry.

Responsibilities:

- Participate in the implementation (eg, coding, testing, debugging) effort of new features to our site

- Collaborate with experienced software engineers in the design, development and testing stages

- Serve as a contributing member of an Agile development team in close collaboration to product owners

Qualifications:

- Professional and/or academic experience with object-oriented design and development using Java or C++

- Experience with web development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

- Experience with SQL and relational databases

- Excellent problem solving, verbal and written skills, with proven ability to communicate complex ideas

- Ability to write clean, coherent code, and to follow established coding style guidelines

- Results oriented team player with a positive attitude

Work Experience and Education Guidelines:

- BS and/or MS in Computer Science

- 0-2 years of software development experience

- Experience using Agile development methodologies

Experience with the following technologies is a big plus:

- Java, Spring Framework, web services

- Travel GDS's (eg SABRE, ITA, etc.)

- Automated testing frameworks (TestNG, Mockito, Selenium, Cucumber)

- TDD or BDD

- Continuous Integration tools

- Mobile app development (iOS, Android, Mobile Web)
