ISEB/ISTQB – Certified   Tester - Java/C ++/C#/VB .NET - MSSQL or Oracle preferable

Role & Responsibilities:

The Quality Assurance Engineer 3 works closely with development engineers, business analysts, and other Quality Assurance team members to identify, report, and troubleshoot defects and verify fixes in a detailed, efficient, and timely manner.  The analyst will work across multiple cross-functional teams to roll-up all unit and integration tests to execute full system, interface, and end-to-end testing. The engineer should be able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with Perl/Java scripts and/or user-level automated tools.  A suitable candidate for this role should demonstrate the following skills, experience and aptitudes.

Essential Skills

• Higher level academic technical qualification eg Bachelors in Computer Science or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years working experience testing Banking or Brokerage system applications or equivalent.
• Sound knowledge of approved testing strategies with a clear understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and the agile methodology.
• Strong analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Expert knowledge of any flavor of the UNIX operating system. Red Hat is preferred.
• Self motivated and ability to work independently or in a group setting. Experience of working in a Global Quality Assurance Team
• Experience working with low latency and high performance systems
• A pro-active and driven analyst with excellent communication and presentation skills.

Desirable:

It would also be beneficial for the candidate to have the following experience/knowledge:

• Expert understanding of Equity or Derivative markets.
• Professional QA/Testing certifications (ie ISEB/ISTQB – Certified Tester)
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams
• Working knowledge of at least one programming languages (Java/C ++/C#/VB .NET)
• Ability to use SQL for data verification purposes (eg MSSQL or Oracle preferable);
• Experience testing in large-scale, multi-tier applications.
• Experience of working in an Investment Banking environment or Exchange business.
• Experience in testing 3rd Party Applications and Interfaces, and liaising with 3rd Party Software Vendors.

A min of 4 years Package creation and editing using Wise Installer and Install-Shield or MSI

You must be experienced working with application development teams and users.
