Within ING, the Network Switching group is responsible for development of enterprise core and metro, aggregation, data center access and SMB products.
This is a very key and a senior position within the architecture group of network switching at Broadcom. The Network Switching group is responsible for development of enterprise core and metro, data center aggregation, access and SMB products.
In this position you will join a team of experienced network switching architects developing and supporting the most advanced technology in the enterprise network chip industry. In this highly visible role, you will be a key architect in our Ethernet Switching organization defining the industry leading switching architecture of our next generation Enterprise/Data Center/Service Provider devices. You will utilize your excellent communication skills interacting with many customers, driving technical presentations: Be in a position to understand customer requirements, customer applications and trends and mapping it to product definition.
You will be challenged with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Defining the architecture of next generation switching devices.
Authoring detailed system specifications and documentation.
Defining and implementing new protocols.
Working cross functionally with AV team in validating the architecture.
Working cross functionally with Design team in implementing the new protocol functions in hardware.
Understanding the overall switching requirements from the hardware and systems point of view.

Job Requirements Typically requires MSCS/EE, plus 12 years, or PhDCS/EE LUS 9 years, of experience in network system or chip architecture .
Software experience with strong C/C++ coding skills is essential.
Experience with at least one of the following protocols: OSPF, RIP, BGP, VRRP, MPLS, VPLS, TRILL, GRE, VXLAN is required.
Experience in Architecture model/modeling development and system validation is considered a plus.
Experience with Layer 2 and/or Layer 3 technologies like Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6 is a strong advantage.
Ideal candidate has systems background with some chip background (S/W or H/W) in Network Switching industry.
Good software background to develop model for next generation switches.
Micro-architecture experience is an advantage.
