Job Overview:

The Senior VMware Virtualization Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of our virtual infrastructure. We are seeking a senior level Systems expert with in-depth VMware ESX experience and operational experience with Microsoft's Hyper-V in a multi-platform environment. This position requires extensive experience with performance monitoring, workload profiling, and capacity management, as well as being highly competent in storage and network management within a virtualized environment. Experience with Windows and Linux administration is expected.

Job Responsibilities:
- Refine our VMware/Hyper-V environment to provide a stable, enterprise-class virtual infrastructure.
- Design, deliver, and maintain a scalable backup and anti-virus solution for the virtualized environment.
- Develop methodology for workload profiling and optimization.
- Create comprehensive monitors within VC and SCCM for performance reporting and management.
- Enable DR-capabilities by leveraging virtualizations features, automation and SRM.
- Worldwide responsibilities and accountability for system and service performance, availability, planning, and customer satisfaction.
- This is an individual contributor role working within a global "follow the Sun" team of enterprise systems administrators and specialists.

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent is desired.
- Proficient with VMware vCenter and vSphere 5.1.
- Five (5) years of enterprise Systems Administration experience.
- Experience in leveraging NAS and SAN storage.
- Experience in provisioning Servers via templates and cloning.
- Experience with backup and AV for up virtual Servers.
- Five (5) years of Enterprise Systems Administration experience, including MS 2003 & 2008.
- Strong VMware diagnostic, troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills (eg Visio, wiki, etc).
- Strong language skills.
- Strong customer support skills.
- VMware VCP certification is desired.
- Experience with SRM, HA, FT, and LM/vCD.
- Skilled in monitoring/diagnostic tools and technologies.
