Staff Engineering Applications Support Analyst - Permanent

Yoh has a Full time opportunity for a Staff Engineering Applications Support Analyst to join our client in San Jose, CA.

Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain, implement and evaluate engineering applications as part of the Engineering Applications team, including, but not limited to VDI, Compute Grid, Revision Control and EDA integration.
- Provide a robust liaison between Engineering, EngApps and IT Infrastructure teams, ensuring continuing communication and relationship development to facilitate project completion.
- Analyze existing infrastructure and Engineering methodologies to propose and develop succinct and maintainable solutions aimed at driving down costs, acting as project manager when required. This will include analysis of cycle times, license costs and IP usage and protection.
- Support a wide range of applications, responding to tickets within the defined SLA and providing clear and concise updates to end users.
- Create detailed documentation for all development and implementation work in a manner that provides for knowledge transition to other resources and a guide for on-going support.
- Obtain knowledge from the business such that specific, useful and representative testing can be performed by the EngApps team using EDA tools and other Engineering processes.
- Participate in non-work hours on-call support as required for critical outages or project implementations.

Job Qualifications:
- Six (6) plus years supporting engineering applications.
- Six (6) plus years of experience with Linux OS and Scripting such.
- Four (4) plus years project management and/or business analyst experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid experience using or supporting EDA tools and design flows, such as Virtuoso, Calibre, Eldo, VCS, Modelsim or similar.
- Strong Scripting skills and EDA integration flow such as Perl, Python, TCL SH/BASH/TCSH or similar
- Knowledge of EDA infrastructure environment operation and development, SQL, HTML, CSS, web portal, CGI etc.
- Experience in application/infrastructure debugging and problem resolution.
- Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) and high level design processes.
- BS/BEng in Computer Science or Engineering related.

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- IT architectural design experience.
- Experience in a semiconductor and/or high tech company.
- Experience using Compute Ranch tools such as LSF.
- Experience using Revision Control systems such as IC Manage and Subversion.
- Strong analysis and development of metrics.
- Experience working in a global organization.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting tight deadlines.
- Project management and/or business analyst skills are preferred.
