Database Developer (SSIS, SSAS, ETL, TSQL) Database Developer Southern California based IT Consulting firm is currently seeking a Sr. Database Administrator/Developer. Work with the Director of Professional Services and engagement teams, the Senior Database Administrator/Developer is responsible for the design, development and implementation of high quality data components, ETL, ODS, and related database architectures and supporting technologies.
Systems include transaction data, reporting systems, data warehouses (both Relational and Analysis Services), and interfaces to other custom and commercial systems. You may work on multiple, medium to large scale technical projects at a time, as well as ongoing production support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Participate in the development of enterprise-wide strategies, processes, and standards for data architecture, storage, SSIS or other ETL, and reporting.
-Design, code, document, unit test and maintain database scripts and objects to support .NET applications, SSIS/ETL and data warehouse.
-Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, data recovery, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
-Strong knowledge of indexing, index management, integrity checks, configuration and patching.
-Knowledge of how statistics function, how indices are stored and how they can be created and managed effectively.
-Strong experience with tools such as Query Analyzer and other third-party query and database optimization and performance tools.
-Collaborate with Architects to create, refine and document database models.
-Design, code, test and maintain database schema objects including stored procedures, functions, views and security.
-Implement database unit tests using Visual Studio 2010 capabilities; utilize Microsoft TFS source control to manage the database schema.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
-Must have a thorough understanding of structured programming design techniques and best-practice design patterns used to create high-quality, robust and readable code.
-5+ years of experience with database development with at least three or more of those years using a recent version of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL (SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2012).
Must demonstrate proficiency in the following:
-Data Modeling
-Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2 and 2012
-Microsoft SS Integration Services
-Microsoft SS Reporting Services
-Microsoft TFS
-Microsoft Visual Studio for Database Architects
-Microsoft T-SQL, design, code, document, unit test and maintain
-High performance transaction databases
-Create ETL to populate the BI data warehouse and other data destinations
A plus is to demonstrate proficiency in the following:
-Microsoft SS Analysis Services
-Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2010 and C# programming expertise
