About the Opportunity
Epsilon is a leading provider of multi-channel marketing services, technologies and database solutions. A subsidiary of Alliance Data (NYSE: ADS), Epsilon is seeking a Senior Database Administrator with a balance of skills in database design, physical implementation and performance tuning to work out of our Schaumburg, IL location supporting large-scale Oracle databases for hosted Database Marketing Systems.

Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated and well-rounded Oracle DBA with a strong development background to add to our team to provide full life cycle support on a new build.

Responsibilities
* Full life cycle support of client's database(s).
* Responsible for database backups, recoveries, patches, upgrades and performance tuning.
* Will work with developers to design and build new structures to support future enhancements to the applications.
* Responsible for sharing 24 x 7 on call duties with other team members.

Qualifications

* 4 year degree in Computer Science or Information Technology required (or equivalent experience).
* Minimum of 4 years of experience working with Oracle database systems on UNIX required.
* Oracle 10g & 11g DBA experience required (RAC setup/configuration strongly preferred).
* Candidate must have strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
* Candidate must have experience in Oracle 10g database architecture, logical and physical design, automation, documentation, installs, Shell Scripting, PL/SQL programming, backup & recovery, monitoring, and database and query tuning.
* Candidates with 9i or 10g OCP are highly preferred.
* Oracle 11g experience preferred.
* RMAN and Data Guard experience in Oracle 10g or higher is ideal.
* Good performance and tuning skill set is needed.
* Database partitioning, patching, cloning experience preferred.
* Experience with materialized views preferred.
* Oracle support in .NET environment strongly preferred.
* Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred.
