Responsibilities Responsible for providing leadership and managing the team's portfolio of projects, project roadmaps and governance processes. Build and manage strong business relationships with internal IT customers and order to deliver high quality IT infrastructure and support services.
Work with business and IT partners to develop multi-year roadmaps of the technology needs to support areas of responsibility. Lead the teams to develop and execute these roadmaps. This includes development and execution of a solution delivery plan, and the ongoing support and maintenance of the related systems in production. Collaborate with stakeholders on early product ideas. Collaborate across IT teams to integrate roadmaps and manage enterprise demand. Keep abreast of current industry and technology trends. Mature department capabilities in planning and program management.
Project & portfolio management:
- Develop service delivery strategy & project roadmap.
- Manage trade-offs in delivery roadmap against rolling strategy.
- Lead execution of portfolio via projects managed by project managers.
- Introduce portfolio & project management best practices.
- Identify cross IT impacts and work across the organization to plan and orchestrate.
- Maintain a pipeline of work in the pre-approved initiation phase.
Relationship management:
- Build & enhance strong relationships with internal business customers and other IT teams.
- Anticipate and define customer needs.
- Develop & maintain key internal customer relationships.
- Lead the development of business cases & definition of customer requirements.
- Partners with other team leaders to develop team strategy, improve processes based on ITIL methodology.
Governance and budgeting:
- Accountable for governance steering committee preparation and execution.
- Participate in annual budgeting process and maintain project budget details.
- Maintain detailed project budgets, track monthly budget to actuals, & report variances.
- Estimate project costs. Track plan vs. actual and report variances for projects.
Vendor management:
- Negotiate system & professional services contracts.
- Maintain relationships with vendor partners in order to deliver ongoing quality services.
- Includes oversight of RFPs, invoice review/approval, coordination with Contracts.
People management:
- Develop & execute resource plan to support analysis and sustainment of project work.
- Manage day-to-day supervision and work assignments of project managers and business analysts consisting of employee and contracted personnel.
- Hire and onboard employees; conduct performance evaluations, assess talent, develop staff.
- This role manages people and is responsible for hiring the talent needed to achieve our goals, ensuring successful employee onboarding, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, integrating project and change management, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable, supporting employee development, and recognizing achievement and lessons learned.
- Maintain career/professional development plans, annual (and near-term) goals, performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, staff meetings, and mentoring. Empower and motivate team members.
Qualifications Education and Professional Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 6-10 years of experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of infrastructure technologies and process used and available in supported business partner groups.
- Project management methods and tools; industry developments and best practices.
- Experience with ITIL framework is required.
- Proven technical project methods for hardware, software, and support solutions; example: Networking, Data Center, Help Desk.
- Project portfolio management.
- Business case development.
- Organizational change management and communication planning and execution.
- Establishing and maintaining operating and project budgets.
- Resource planning and estimating.
- Experience managing teams. Includes recruitment, retentions, and staff development.
- Budget management, including project estimating, tracking actuals to forecast, reporting variances, making portfolio trade-offs to meet budget and business objectives.
- Translate strategic initiatives and tactical efforts onto a multi-year rolling roadmap.
- Extensive infrastructure project management and business analysis experience in a variety of settings and industries, including experience with various delivery methodologies across the full software development lifecycle.
