POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications. Guides and advises less experienced Business Systems Analysts. Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
Under minimal direction, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through user needs and an understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs at an advanced technical level on all phases of analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements, and translating into proper system requirement specifications.
Develops or modifies procedures to solve complex problems within information systems.
Acts as liaison between end-user communities, stakeholders, and service providers within an enterprise.
Interviews personnel from functional user area under study to learn general purpose of systems and information requirements of positions involved in the data flow.
Analyzes client resources, including funding, personnel, and unfunded requirements.
Analyzes business and user needs, documents requirements, and revises existing system logic difficulties as necessary.
Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications.
Monitors and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests.
Develops, coordinates and implements plans to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing.
Trains and provides guidance to less experienced Business Systems Analysts.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
The clearance level required is dependent on the type of clearance supported by our client.
