Description:
USMC Tactical Network Systems Technician job available in HANAHAN, located near Charleston, SC.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate will support the engineering, testing, and fielding of USMC Tactical Network Systems to include Transition Switch Module (TSM), Joint Enhanced Core Communications System (JECCS) and Digital Technical Control (DTC). Candidate will assist in the testing of specialized network communications and power/control cable assemblies. Will support all formal Test & Evaluation planning, integration, and reporting. Candidate will image laptops and load/test system software. Will assemble and integrate piece parts, components, and assemblies to deliver products to include, but not limited to, fully integrated enclosures, rack kits, and mobile cases
TRAVEL REQUIREMETTS:
CONUS and OCONUS travel required, up to 35% annually. Must possess or be able to obtain & maintain a valid US passport.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A valid High School diploma or GED AND formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in avionics, electronics or communications or four-year electronics apprenticeship is required. Formal electronics training, must have included: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
All candidates must have at least eight (8) years of practical, hands-on experience, to include: Electronics Repair, Maintenance, Installation and Checkout and two (2) years of experience, to include: supervision, and shop practices. (Note: Experience may be concurrent).
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to understand complex C4ISR hardware and software integration and be able to interpret system drawing packages.
Ability to work independently to integrate kit components and provide comprehensive feedback regarding form, fit and function findings.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair components/cables as necessary to ensure proper system operation.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
An active, transferable, DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must maintain eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
