Scottrade, Inc. has a Computer Operations Technician position available in Saint Louis, MO.The Computer Operations Technician will be responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly production batch processing on a iSeries Mid-Range system. The technician will also need to monitor integration between Back Office iSeries system and front-end, mid-tier, and Back End systems. Duties will include monitoring daily operation of the system, which includes: file transmissions, backups, system hardware, software upgrades, and troubleshooting. Troubleshooting of Front End Web Applications and Mid-Tier components are done as well. Platforms that are troubleshot and monitored include but not limited to, Microsoft Windows Server Environment, SQL and Oracle Databases, Linux, and iSeries systems. Candidate must be able to work off-hours, as required.

Responsibilities:

* Operate, monitor and maintain all partitions on the iSeries, and NT Server farm.
* Maintain an accurate record of computer performance, malfunctions, reruns, and other difficulties as dictated by operations procedures.
* Monitor production network connections and escalates any failures to 1st and 2nd level Scottrade and Vendor personnel.
* Monitor file transmissions between all vendors. Monitors report transmissions from iSeries and Open Systems to end-user.
* Proactively monitor service level performance of hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
* Complete all job logs and report logs to ensure all production executions are successfully processed.
* Provide 1st level troubleshooting to all platforms as reported by Technical Support.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Technical software and hardware troubleshooting skills.
* Good documentation skills.
* Ability to follow workflow processes.
* Great attention to detail.
* Fundamental understanding of computer networking technologies (protocols, physical connectivity, ect).
* Working knowledge of Internet and Intranet concepts.
* Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all Scottrade associates and by having a positive attitude.

Education and Experience:

* Associate's degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
* 1+ years iSeries operation experience required.
* 1+ years Microsoft Windows Server Environment experience preferred.
