Scottrade, Inc. has a Network Security Engineer position available in Saint Louis, MO. The main purpose of this position is to assist in ensuring that the Scottrade Extranet, Intranet and Internet designs and implementations meet or exceed industry standard security practices. This position is responsible for risk assessment, testing, implementation planning and executing, monitoring and maintenance of networks, firewalls, VPNs, IPS and related network security tools.

Responsibilities:

* Assist to design, implement and maintain Firewalls and Firewall Policy
* Assist to design, implement and maintain the IPS/IDS solution(s) for Scottrade
* Work with team on capacity planning and strategy of security infrastructure
* Assist to design, implement and maintain the VPN solution(s) for remote access
* Prepare advanced level functional and technical specifications for security related projects
* Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Highly motivated, results oriented, self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Advanced level knowledge of threats, analysis and remediation efforts in reference to Intrusion Prevention and penetrations.
* Ability to develop a secure network architecture.
* Advanced level understanding of one or more security related products: firewalls, VPN concentrators, proxies.
* Advanced level understanding of networking at all layers of the OSI model and its application to systems and networking.
* Advanced level understanding of security concepts such as least privilege, privilege escalation, and defense in depth.
* Basic level understanding of security testing methods (OWASP, NSA, ect).
* Ability to identify and clearly explain various network security vulnerabilities and explain in detail how to avoid them.
* Basic level understanding of Workstation security including how end point and network security complement each other.
* Basic level proficiency with Cisco Routers and switches.
* Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in IS, Computer Science, MIS Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
* 4+ years experience in Information Security required.
* 4+ years experience maintaining networks using multiple technologies such as network Routers and switches, firewalls, proxies and VPNs required.
* 3+ years Networking Administration experience required.
