Summary:
Under minimal supervision, The IT Systems Engineer will provide network infrastructure recommendations. This position is also responsible for the design, implementation and administration of the Local and Wide Area Network infrastructure that supports the Companys expanding computer environment. While performing all duties and responsibilities, the IT Systems Engineer, will, at all times, model Company values and principles and act in a manner consistent with the Company Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Architect and support a Cisco Unified Communications products platform including Communications Manager, Call Manager Express, Unity, Unity Connection and Unity Express.
- Design project plans for infrastructure builds, migrations, integrations and customization while accounting for risk and forecasting technical issues and network infrastructure changes.
- Develop the network infrastructure changes needed to support the following:
o New systems.
o Purchases and acquisitions.
o Facility changes including new facilities.
- Develop detailed implementation plans of the network infrastructure to ensure smooth and effective migrations to new technology and new versions of existing technology and oversee the implementation plans.
- Analyze current infrastructure and recommend changes to keep the infrastructure from being oversaturated.
- Coordinate the expansion of the companies VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) infrastructure.
- Manage network service providers and associated contracts.
- Create and maintain network architecture documentation, standards and procedures.
- Provide technical knowledge to support other members of the IT staff on network and system related issues.
- Assist with other IT related issues as required.
- Participate in multi-plant IT related teams and projects.
- Participate in various process improvement projects. May facilitate or lead teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology and/or the equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Network Engineer
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Network Architect
- Solid understanding of IP routing, switching and routing protocol required.
- Excellent knowledge of Firewalls, Switches, Routers, and VPN†s (Virtual Private Networking) required. Experience with application performance analysis preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience in VM (Virtual Machine) Ware virtualization
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a plus.
- Cisco Certified Design Architect (CCDA) Certification a plus.
- Cisco Certified Infrastructure Engineer (CCIE) Certification a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco cross platforms a plus.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to compile and present data in a format that facilitates information sharing and decision making.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and oral skills, with strong listening and investigative abilities.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities which frequently change. Ability to complete multiple tasks within the required time frame in a highly interactive environment with frequent interruptions and change priorities. Must be able to work effectively in a team oriented, participative environment.
- Must be able to maintain a calm, professional demeanor with dealing with customers, other employees, vendors, and visitors.
Education and/or Experience Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology and/or the equivalent education, training, and experience.
Computer Skills:
