1 year plus contract for a QA systems Test Analyst with HPQC experience, CaliberDM is a plus. Experience testing electronic systems, demand and response systems, electronics testing experience required. Any utility or energy industry experience is a plus. The RDR Test Analyst supports the Direct Load Control (DLC) Switch project. The RDR Test Analyst may support various phases of the project and work cross-functionally across sub-work streams, as required. This position will apply the methods, techniques and technologies that address load control switch hardware, and radio mesh Technology - as they apply to testing. Effective communication and coordinating testing is key.
This position provides a wide array of daily, weekly, and ad-hoc tasks. The RDR Test Analyst is responsible for understanding and following the established standards and practices of NGDR Test Engineering.
Duties include:
- Participate in requirements definition, test planning, and test set design.
- Define test scenarios
- Setup test conditions to ensure thorough testing
- Write Test Cases and detailed test steps based upon requirements
- Participate in the test case Peer Review process
- Provide validation and traceability that stated requirements and specifications are validated in tests and test results.
- Execute tests
- Analyze and report test failures to appropriate level of detail for defect submission and test results remediation
- Enter defects into the defect management system
- Verify resolution of resolved defects and participate in root cause analysis of reported defects
- Participate in documentation and test procedure reviews. Retain and maintain all test records, logs and certificate documents
- Interpret and present test results/metrics in an effective manner

Key general skills needed:
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work on a project team collaboratively
- Degree from a technical college or 4-year college/university with 2 years' experience, or 7-9 years' experience.
Key test engineering skills needed:
- Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and quality principles
- Demonstrated system test experience
- Ability to write and execute test cases in the knowledge domain for this assignment (hardware, firmware, software, etc. as appropriate)
- Ability to understand basic functional and technical requirements
- Ability to elaborate business requirements into detailed, viable hardware/firmware/software requirements as appropriate
- Ability to develop test scripts/scenarios/test cases
- Understanding of Unit, Functional, System, Performance testing and the tools utilized
Key RDR skills needed:
- Take physical and electrical/electronic requirements and ensure that they can be validated, tested, or verified.
- Understanding of radio mesh technology
Key SW skills (if needed for assignment):
- Familiarity with system architecture and database analysis
- Familiarity with the tools (CaliberRM and HPQC)
- Experience on complex projects
- Experience with software and hardware test fixtures
- Electric utility project experience
- CMMI and SDLC methodologies
- Familiarity with NIST and related interoperability standards
Local Candidates preferred. All candidates must work onsite, and be abel to work W-2 hourly only. No corp. to corp. allowed.
