Seeking a strong technical candidate with project manage skills to join our eCommerce team. This candidate must be proficient in web and mobile technologies such as Java, JSP, HTML5, Unix, and Linux. This candidate will work on a dynamic team with the goal of designing and building innovative eCommerce and mobile banking solutions. These solutions should be flexible, scalable, cost-effective and supportable.

The candidate should also be well versed in emerging technologies and design trends in order to ensure that our eCommerce/mobile offerings are current and relevant and competitive.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Global Development Consultants (GDCs), system engineers, and project managers to create and review detailed technical and functional requirements
  • Lead and collaborate on technical designs and solutions which consider impacts on overall application architecture
  • Review and approve design and test deliverables for projects
  • Monitor application code quality through development, test, and QA
  • Participate in addressing root cause analyses, incident reports and provide direction in problem resolution
  • Participate in finding ways to increase efficiency, improve system performance and offer improvement suggestions when appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with architecture, security and technology standards set by GE Retail Finance
  • Ensure compliance with change control and release management processes (including holiday freeze adherence)
  • Serve as technical expert on application(s) within team of system engineers
  • Provide insight and guidance based on lessons learned and best practices
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support periodically throughout the year
  • Work with shared infrastructure teams to develop and maintain the eCommerce system's hardware and software
  • Working with Client and Business leaders to develop technical solutions to their practical business problems

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1) Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience programming and architecting web application technologies such as JSP, J2EE, HTML, HTML 5, Struts & Tiles, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA); OR
    2) Bachelor Degree and Graduate or upcoming graduate of the GE Leadership Information Technology Leadership Program (ITLP); OR
    3) In lieu of the Bachelor Degree, a High School Diploma/GED a minimum of 6 years of experience programming and architecting web application technologies such as JSP, J2EE, HTML, HTML 5, Struts & Tiles, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Strong knowledge of web and Application Server operation (SunWeb7, Glassfish preferred)
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP and HTTP protocols
  • Working knowledge of mobile industry including HTML5, IOS, mobile web, Native App Development
  • Proficient in Unix/Solaris and Linux OS
  • Strong understanding of Object Oriented Design and programming
  • Strong understanding of web architecture including web, app, data tier and network design
  • Strong knowledge of hardware/software architecture and operating system fundamentals

Eligibility Requirements:

  • MUST be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, if applicable.
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
