Job Description: Applications Support Analyst
The Healthcare and Compliance group at CGI Federal is looking for an Applications Support Analyst to be part of a large team in a dynamic and changing environment. Projects include delivering technology and application management services for mission critical applications and infrastructure in the federal healthcare space.
Federal healthcare is moving to a more cost-effective shared services model to remove silos and to leverage applications and platforms across multiple organizations. CGI provides healthcare departments and agencies with in-depth functional and technical expertise to adopt these strategies and to offer clients a focused set of solutions that help federal health organizations become more productive, cost-effective, secure and service-oriented.
The Applications Support Analyst will be responsible for providing professional and effective technical consulting services to client organizations while performing the functions, including taking preemptive action as appropriate for supported UNIX/Linux systems.
-Responsible for managing technical help desk requests and incidents between infrastructure and application teams
-Ability to provide Level 1 Help Desk support and complete initial troubleshooting diagnosis in web application architecture utilizing LAMP stack technologies
-Receives and handles incidents for support following agreed upon processes and procedures
-Provides information to enable problem resolution and allocates unresolved incidents as appropriate
-Maintains records and advises relevant persons of action taken
-Proactively communicates ticket status for requests and incidents to appropriate teams for ticket resolution
-Collaboration with various groups of change coordinators and support (project and production environment)
-Ensure that the changes comply with approved procedures in place and escalation if required
-proactively participate in working sessions on new processes, procedures and standards
-Perform deep analysis and provide recommendations when procedures are inappropriate
-Generate and distribute standard and adhoc reports
Create detailed SOPs on day to day activities
-Follow-up on the closure of completed changes and incidents tickets
-Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
Requirements:
-Must have a Bachelor's degree
-Must have 1-3 years of experience in an IT outsourcing environment supporting infrastructure related service requests and incidents
-Must have strong knowledge of basic UNIX skills (eg, navigation in directories, basic commands)
-Experience using ITIL processes to deliver service across platform and various teams
-Ability to bridge the gap between infrastructure and application teams
-Strong customer service orientation
-Unix Shell Scripting a plus
-Must have experience in supporting Jboss & tomcat environment
-Jboss SOAP knowledge is a plus
-Problem Solving skills and attention to detail
-Must be able to successfully pass/complete a CGI background check to start employment
