Job Overview:

Nalco Champion Oil Field Chemicals (OFC) is looking for a Senior Product Line Manager to lead product the global strategy and marketing activities for our Automation team. Automation is a significant potential growth engine for the business; this complex and growing product category is very field-driven and requires a dynamic, engaged and collaborative personality to help develop long term strategies and drive its execution. The Senior Product Line Manager will define our long term strategic road map for IT-based customer programs, from development to production to launch and sales. Accountable for the ongoing growth, profitability and vitality of the assigned product portfolio.

Territory/Location Information: This position is based in Sugar Land, Texas. There will be travel involved up to 25%.

Main Responsibilities:

- Develop comprehensive and differentiated automation strategies that support accelerated and profitable growth today while delivering innovation that greatly strengthens Nalco Champion's competitive position in the future and position it to significantly outpace market growth and profitability. Solutions in scope include customer portals and field-based technologies such as remote monitoring and automation.
- Work with the business to define the commercial value created by IT and automation as well as the value capture by the business. Identify changes to the business model to maximize value creation and capture.
- Determine the optimal product portfolio for automation solutions. This may include sensors and field hardware, control and monitoring solutions, data management software, customer extranets, etc. and will require close partnerships with key stakeholders in IT, sales, supply chain and other support functions.
- Develop and execute a robust mid-term and long-term innovation road map. Leverage cross functional groups to couple in-depth knowledge of customer needs with Nalco Champion's existing and future technology capabilities. Collaborate with internal equipment, system integration and IT resources to adopt/adapt existing offerings for the oilfield market. Clearly identify global platforms and regional adaptations. Be aware of emerging technologies (hardware and software) and source innovation from the outside where appropriate.
- Develop and leverage strong marketing analytics and market research to develop robust, fact-based strategies that deliver sustainable and unique competitive advantage.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive set of tools and training that communicates our automation value proposition to the sales teams and customers in a compelling way.
- Build business case for continued investment in oil and gas automation solutions and establish relevant KPIs to monitor performance to stated business goals.
- Leverage the Stage and Gate process for bringing innovation to the market.
- Develop talent within the team to support the development of a robust product organization with a culture of strong engagement, accountability and high performance

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or related Engineering discipline

Experience: 8+ years

- Outstanding track record of leveraging and deploying automation and information technology on a large-scale to create significant competitive advantage and drive accelerated growth.
- Excellent capacity for strategic, long-range thinking and planning, and strong ability to integrate with short-term activity and to translate into tactical plans.
- Documented strength in analysis, identification of problems and problem resolution.
- Proven hands-on experience in solutions architecture
- Strong enterprise-wide, cross functional project management skills to deliver results on schedule and under budget.
- Must be a natural collaborator with a preference for working with cross-functional teams to deliver results on tight timelines and to drive change agendas
- Ability to navigate complex Matrix organization to include and influence key stakeholders in various functions and regions.
- Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both within and outside the business
- Experience with Specialty Chemicals in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred

Experience with field hardware, software and/or data management solutions a plus
