Job Description:

To provide the technical skills and expertise required in developing and maintaining computer operating system software of the most complex nature.

Salary Range

From $66,240.00 To $82,800.00 Annually
This position is a Band Code: CS23.

Specific Job Related Duties

Job responsibilities include programming and troubleshooting Java, .NET, and Oracle based systems, most notably caTissue and WebCamp. Additionally this individual will collaborate with other institutions in determining the feasibility of using EPIC for research related projects, documenting scope, and then facilitating project approval. This individual will determine user requirements for managed systems and configure web applications to meet those requirements. This person should also be able to establish timelines, communicate project status, oversee user testing, write documentation, establish data security, and assist with user training as needed.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

This position will alternate between offices in Galveston and Clear Lake. Galveston will be the primary Business Unit.

Preferred Work Experience

Required Experience

- Ability to program using Java with J2EE
- Experience creating and managing databases in Oracle
- Competency in gathering user requirements and converting them into system configuration settings

Preferred Experience

- Strong Java Knowledge
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL
- Experience working in a Linux environment
- Exposure to EPIC or other Electronic Medical Record System
- Experience developing interactive and dynamic web sites using various languages, such as Java, PHP, and .NET connecting to either Oracle, SLQ Server, or MySQL
