RF FIELD ENGINEER - INTERFERENCE MITIGATION SPECIALIST

Job description

IDPP seeks to hire a Full time Field Engineer specialized and experienced in Radio Frequency (RF) Interference Troubleshooting and Mitigation for cellular networks.

Candidates that generally meet the requirements but have no specialized experience in Interference Mitigation are also encouraged to apply. Besides this specialist position described below, IDPP seeks Full time field engineers who will build experience in Interference Mitigation

through coaching from our team of experts.

The Field Engineer will be expected to

• perform advanced RF Interference Hunting operations, including identification of sources in arbitrary environments along the US East Coast
• perform Passive Intermodulation (PIM) tests and repairs at base stations
• operate and maintain the measurement instruments and tools used
• identify and plan routes in agreement with the manager
• work closely with customers on engineering level in order to resolve ad-hoc problems quickly and long term problems flexibly
• perform post-processing steps, data visualization and result presentation with MS Office applications
• develop continuous improvement tactics and operations for all measurement systems and processes
• report project status, action items and next planned steps on a regular basis

The Field Engineer needs to be capable of domestic travel up to 100% and to work on a flexible schedule with flexible hours.

Desired skills, experience and qualification

The ideal candidate will have/be
experience in operating measurement instruments such as DF-equipment, spectrum analyzers and PIM test equipment

• demonstrated knowledge of RF technology, radio propagation, cellular technologies and network architectures
• demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the physical setup of base stations
• knowledge on spectrum management and licensing is a plus
• very detail oriented
• team player and a self-starter who must be able to work independently
• proven record of and demonstrated customer centricity (internally and externally)
• strong ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• demonstrated ability to adapt and to excel in a high pressure work environment with rapidly changing business priorities, travel requirements etc.
• drive obligations to successful closure, getting things done attitude combined with doing it right the first time , ie precision benefits both the company as well as its customers
• sense of ownership, initiative and the determination to continually improve
• excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals and

customers at all levels of the organization

The ideal candidate will have experience in a relevant field with at least BS or equivalent degree in EE/Computer Science (or related field of study).
