What you need for this position:
-BSCS or related degree/Experience
- 3-5 year experience as a developer with leadership, and client facing scenarios
-Hands on experience with relational databases. (SQL, Oracle)
-Java development
-Advanced client facing and customer relationship skills.
What you'll be doing:
You will enhance, update, create and support around the following three applications:
Electronic Order Guides (EOG) - This is actually a combination of several different tools. The main support function here is writing queries to gather information and to fix data issues where the content management tool introduces flaws. The web application has an Oracle back-end. The application and web tiers are written in Java with XSL stylesheets used to transform the data into HTML format. The application has just been moved to a SuSe Linux environment which we are responsible for maintaining from a software perspective.
Main skills, in order of importance: Oracle SQL, XSL, Java, Linux/Unix scripting
VMDS (aka, Consumer Friendly Descriptions, or CFD) †This is a web application written in C# with some Javascript. It shares the Oracle database with EOG. This is a much newer application and is subject to requests for enhancements.
Main skills, in order of importance: Oracle, C# (web, business and data tiers)
EOG Web Service †This service is consumed by a dealer-facing web application written and maintained external to DCI. It is written in C# and again shares the database with EOG and VMDS. It returns JSON-formatted data.
Main skills, in order of importance: Oracle, C#, JSON
Other areas: You will be asked to support, enhance and/or replace various tools that were written to support the EOG application. These were written primarily in VB6. Also you will occasionally also be asked to attend meetings with clients to offer a technical perspective. The candidate will also be asked to create new applications based on client as well as our company requests.
