We are looking for an experienced Sr. Microsoft SQL Database Administrator to join our team in Ogden, Utah
Specific Job Responsibilities Include:
This position is for a senior level Microsoft (MS) SQL Database Administrator to provide technical support in a large 24x7 data center environment. MS SQL Server versions 2005, 2008 and 2012 are in use at this datacenter
Some additional responsibilities are listed below:
* Install, patch, and configure MS SQL.
* Build databases, tables, views, stored procedures, triggers and functions.
* Setup security for the database including users, groups, roles and rights
* Profile the database for performance, troubleshooting and security purposes.
* Use, understand and write T-SQL.
* Manage the Database with logs, backups, restores and all other maintenance requirements.
* Setup network, protocols and surface area settings.
* Configure and build distributed transactions, replications, and DTS Packages.
* Manage and script .NET database security, maintenance and management.
* Script and manage complex interactions between windows services
* Provide project management support in planning and definition.
* Actively participate in the ITIL processes, Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management.
MS SharePoint configuration, administration and cluster
Required Experience:
Candidates must have significant expertise installing, securing, administering and using MS SQL server in a datacenter environment. Strong candidates should be able to harden a MS SQL database instance. Familiarity with the DoD Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) is a plus.
Experience with MS SharePoint configuration, administration and clustering would be very beneficial.
Strong candidates should possess a high level of the Windows Operating system theoretical expertise and technical experience. Other areas of expertise should include, but are not limited to, Windows high availability clusters, system administration, performance tuning, Veritas backup solutions, RAID implementation, Microsoft clustering, FIBER channel storage mediums and knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN).
Security Technologies - Experience with analysis, creation and implementation of security policies including the use of Microsoft Security Configuration and Analysis MMC Plug-in. Experience with group policy and the effect of security through the use of group policies. Experience using NSA guidelines to secure large Windows environments is very beneficial. Experience with Blade Logic would also be beneficial
Candidates for this position must undergo a favorably adjudicated Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) as a minimum investigation. The SSBI will be maintained current within 5-years and requests for Special Background Periodic Review (SBPR) will be initiated 6-months prior to the 5-year anniversary date of the previous SSBI or SBPR.
Sign an Agreement of Nondisclosure (Attachment 1) and return it to the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) no later than five workdays before performance start date.
This position requires considerable work outside of core hours and rotating on call responsibilities. Some limited travel may be required.
Candidates requires, at a minumum, a Bachelor's Degree and four years related experience or a HS degree with 8 years of experience.
IAW DoD Directive 8570.1M employee must hold or be able to obtain Security + CE certification within six months of hire.
