Description
Key Role:
Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations, design, build, and implement network systems, and direct compilation of records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance. Troubleshoot network performance issues, analyze network traffic, provide capacity planning solutions, and monitor and respond to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems. Interface with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. Manage the purchase, testing, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN, MAN, and WAN systems and perform system-level design and configuration of products, including determination of hardware, OS, and other platform specifications. Plan large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies and perform a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities or equipment. Provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products and support and oversee all information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications and communications operations, data entry, data control, LAN, MAN, and WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and Web strategy and operations. Provide input to policy level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints and supervise all vendor personnel engaged in the operationand support of network facilities, including all communications equipment on various platforms in large scale or multi-shift operations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with networks
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree
-Nationally recognized Network Certification
Additional Qualifications:
-BA or BS degree in Business Information Technology, Information Assurance, CS, or Information Security preferred
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
