Position Summary:
The Webmaster/SharePoint Solutions Specialist provides the technical and development leadership for the NAIS websites, intranet, and communities platforms. The Webmaster/SharePoint Solutions Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s technical web presence, including web design, web development, operations, and integration with other applications (including E-commerce and the membership database). This position reports to the Vice President, Information Technology.
This is a 6 month temporary contract employee position, with possibility of extension of contract or full time regular employment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the infrastructure, architecture, design, and functionality of the NAIS websites through the Microsoft SharePoint content management system, Microsoft Dynamics-based E-commerce applications, and custom third-party-hosted applications.
- Maintains and assures the quality and stability of the NAIS websites, overseeing technical support, functionality, accessibility, and security.
- Develops, enhances, and maintains forms, pages, workflows, and applications to display and/or collect specialized member data.
- Conducts thorough user acceptance and regression testing of all new or updated applications, features, or functionality.
- Monitors web Servers and site performance.
- Works closely with the Communications Team and the Marketing Team, guiding the direction and priorities of the NAIS websites.
- Serves as primary contact for websites vendors and third-party hosted application vendors.
- Works collaboratively with the other IT staff on hardware issues related to delivery of member services.
- Informs the organization’s use and purchase of web technology.
- Solves member issues related to using the websites, including logging in, creating accounts, using e-commerce, using networking communities, searching for content, and more.
- Manages the structure, design, security, functionality, and administration of the NAIS intranet.
- Works with the Marketing Team, provide the technical/administrative support for NAIS Connect, the members’ communities/networking platform.
- Trains NAIS staff to use effectively the content management system, E-commerce applications, custom applications, and the NAIS intranet.
- Serves as an engaged and involved team member, supportive of the varied experiences and perspectives of internal and external colleagues.
- Supports and actively builds an office culture dedicated to superior customer service that exceeds member expectations.
- Works within the team and among teams to ensure that decisions are made to further the organization’s mission and goals, particularly the goals of modeling multiculturalism and helping to build inclusive school communities.
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills, Education and Experience
- At least two years’ experience supporting a SharePoint 2010 platform: architecture, configuration, layout, and development
- Technical qualifications
- Advanced: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Microsoft SharePoint Designer, MS SQL, HTML, CSS, jQuery
- Intermediate: ASP.NET, IIS, XML, XSL, Web Services, JavaScript
- Excellent troubleshooting, technical research, and analytical skills
- Strong writing and speaking skills, especially when communicating technical issues to non-technical users
- Proven project management skills
- Demonstrated business needs analysis and documentation experience
- Strong meeting management and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree and/or coursework/experience in Information Systems or related field
- Capable of managing multiple activities/projects concurrently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
