Description

Key Role:

Serve as a system administrator to support the 24/7/365 operations of an enterprise multi-modal biometrics storage and retrieval system. Administer and maintain computer systems, network devices, and Linux and Windows operating systems. Detect, diagnose, and resolve system issues arising within the entire system architecture, including servers, workstations, network equipment, or storage hardware and perform basic troubleshooting of either commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) or custom software products. Document, implement, and follow established operating policies and procedures. Maintain system security controls in compliance with US DoD direction or guidelines and report system security, performance, and events using system monitoring tools. Apply patches and updates to infrastructure components during maintenance releases, as required. Perform system backups using provided backup software as prescribed by engineering and perform recoveries, as required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience as a systems administrator
-Experience with a recent version of Linux, including Red Hat Enterprise 6 or Windows Server, such as 2008 R2
-Knowledge of lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) or Active Directory
-Knowledge of various system and security monitoring tools, including Hyperic, HBSS, Splunk, IDS, or other similar monitoring tool
-Ability to support a 24/7/365 operational system via shift work and on-call rotations
-Secret clearance required
-BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with Oracle RDBMS 11g, SQL, and JBoss
-Experience with sendmail
-Knowledge of storage area network (SAN) infrastructure, including Brocade, NetApp, and Oracle Sun
-Knowledge of Cisco networks
-Knowledge of Veritas Storage Foundation
-Top Secret clearance preferred
