Description
This position is for an Operational Manager position on the Service Asset and Configuration Management team. This person will be responsible for ensuring Capital One's SACM toolset (HP set of SACM tools) is kept accurate, complete and up to date. They will be working with numerous teams, including Architecture, Divisional Representatives, Support Teams, and Senior Leaders to ensure all CIs (physical, logical, Applications and Environments) are properly defined and related within the SACM toolset.
This effort will include reporting and auditing the data, identifying opportunities and providing recommendations for improvement, training teams on the process and usage of the SACM toolset, handling end user requests, and providing information to management regarding the state of the data. This person will also help ensure ITIL best practices are followed and that the interfaces to the SACM toolset are established so the greatest value of the use of the data is obtained.
This role will require the ability to readily adapt to changes and seek, embrace and implement new ideas. Additionally, this role will require learning new technologies and toolsets to better manage SACM data.
A fully qualified candidate will have:
- Ability to translate customer requirements into CI structure design
- Ability to articulate technical information in laymen's terms
- Experience with the HP SACM Toolset (uCMDB, Asset Manager)
- Strong analytical skills
- Must be able to independently identify tasks to be completed, drive updates through completion, and measure progress
- Experience with troubleshooting issues and thinking outside of the box
- Ability to work with associates at any level, and influencing individuals several levels up where necessary
- As a subject matter expert, must be able to independently identify tasks to be completed and aggressively accomplish them
- Ability to work autonomously and with a diverse team.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate day to day operational activities of the SACM team
- Help manage customer process and tool questions related to the SACM data and toolsets
- Focus on customer service and patient instruction to our user community
- Consult with users on the design and CI documentation of services, applications, and infrastructure
- Performing recurring audits of SACM data
- Performing reconciliation with external processes that utilize SACM data
- Engaging with SACM stakeholders (Procurement, IT Finance, Data Center) in support of process implementation and improvement opportunities
- Assist customers with analysis and reporting of information in the SACM toolset
- Leveraging data from auto discovery to assist with data quality and reporting
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 3 years experience in Information Technology
- 2 years experience in process management/operational improvement
- Demonstrated ability to lead (formal or informal)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- ITAM Certifications - CHAMP, CSAM, etc.
- Hardware Asset Management experience
- ITIL Foundations Certification
- Experience with Data Migration tools (Ex: Connect-It, Data Exchange, etc)
- Experience with process improvement (Ex: BPM, Lean, Six Sigma)
