Position Title: Genetic Study of Ex-PVP Material Internship

Role Purpose/Accountabilities:
Applicant will be tasked with carrying out a genetic study of Expired Plan Variety Protected Material (EX-PVP). General areas of emphasis will include the collection of phenotypic notes; including flowering notes, plant ear heights, interpretation of marker studies, and gathering/assigning various male COGS ratings. Other opportunities include working on different station functions, including notes and leadership responsibilities in crops that include corn, soybeans, and snap beans.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- No work experience necessary; on the job training provided.
- Farming/agriculture background helpful.
- Must be organized, responsible, precise, detail oriented, and strive for accuracy in data collection.
- Majoring in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Crop & Soil Science, Agronomy, Biology
Additional Information:
Limited travel required.
