DevSecOps/DBA Engineers (Contract)
Location: London, United Kingdom Country: UK Rate: 60K - 70K/Annum (Negotiable) & 400/day
 

DBA:


Generic responsibilities and accountabilities for Private and Public Cloud technical environments:

Maintain and support SQL server estate, including SQL server 2008-2016 and Azure SQL hosting, both IaaS and PaaS
Secure, maintain and monitor all SQL services
Support the Azure SQL estate, including all maintenance and monitoring tasks, as well as working with projects to carry out any migration to Azure Tasks and any new system implementation in Azure.
The day-to-day resolution of incidents or effecting approved changes covering items such as email, file and print Servers, application Servers, backups and storage management to meet SLAs.
Acting as a resource on Lloyd's infrastructure projects
Supporting the day-to-day operations in the context of business as usual' (BAU)
Provide technical direction and construct, test and implement a wide range of solutions that enable and support business functions.

DevSecOps Knowledge:

  • Customer-centric approach to delivering appropriate business solutions
  • Application life cycle management and project delivery, using Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban
  • Microsoft Azure ecosystem
  • Azure DevOps
  • Microsoft SQL server deployments
  • DevSecOps concepts, eg Continuous integration, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, container deployments, cloud technologies
  • Windows Server
  • Powershell Scripting language knowledge
  • Familiarity with network protocols, routing, and load balancing.
  • Working with cloud platforms and cloud automation tools (eg Terraform/Chef/Puppet/Azure ARM/Bicep templates)
  • Powershell Desired State Configuration (DSC)
  • Working with software containers (eg Docker) and continuous integration tools
  • Performance monitoring of underlying infrastructure and application technologies

Experience:

  • Working as part of a collaborative, self-organising agile team
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced Technology environment
  • Broad knowledge of technology infrastructure that Lloyd's has implemented to underpin its application development.
