Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Warwick (hybrid working available)

Duration 6 months (contract)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join a high-performing technology team delivering complex, regulated products for a leading energy infrastructure provider. You will work within Scrum teams, collaborating closely with Product Owners and Engineers. The team already has a well-prepared product backlog, allowing you to focus immediately on ensuring the quality and reliability of critical energy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and define the QA strategy for the product, ensuring it meets business, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks.
• Lead functional and non-functional testing, including performance, security, and reliability testing.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Engineers within Scrum teams to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality software.
• Identify, document, and track defects, providing actionable feedback to the team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a QA Engineer in complex or regulated environments.
• Strong expertise in automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Deep understanding of both functional and non-functional testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with active product backlogs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills/Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python.
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience in regulated industries or with highly complex products.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools, security testing, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Agile quality metrics and reporting practices.
