Looking to drive innovation and security within the automotive industry? Hamilton Barnes is currently representing a leading automotive organisation who are recruiting for a security engineer, with potential extension for over two years. This exciting opportunity offers hybrid working arrangements, with the office based in Manchester, working inside IR35.

As a Security Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in our large-scale transformation program, working hands-on to develop and maintain our CI/CD security tooling. You'll collaborate closely with all areas of the business to design and implement complex security solutions that serve as enablers for our product engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Comprehensive Security Reviews: Lead in evaluating security posture of new and existing products, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending effective risk mitigation measures.

  • Deploying and Maintaining Security Tooling: I mplement, and manage security infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines, SAST, DAST, PKI, and IAM systems.

  • Performing Thorough Manual Security Assessments: Conduct detailed manual assessments to uncover system weaknesses, ensuring thorough protection of organizational assets.

  • Creating and Maintaining Automated Security Test Suites: Develop and manage automated security test suites to enhance overall security posture and streamline response to emerging

What you will Ideally Bring:

  • Application Security and Threat Modelling: Proficiency in application security principles and threat modelling to fortify applications against evolving threats.

  • Red Teaming and Penetration Testing: Experience in red teaming and penetration testing to identify and exploit vulnerabilities, strengthening our defenses against real-world threats.

  • Implementation of SDLC Processes in DevOps: Lead implementation of SDLC processes, technologies, and automation in DevOps, ensuring security adherence to OWASP best practices.

  • Experience with Security Testing Tools: Familiarity with tools like BurpSuite and nmap for effective security testing.
