Platform Engineering Lead

London - Hybrid (candidates must be UK-based)

Up to circa £85,000 plus outstanding benefits including car allowance, bonus, private healthcare and strong pension

A telecommunications giant are seeking a Platform Engineering Lead to play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of an enormous company-wide reorganisation and digital transformation. This role encompasses diverse responsibilities, including leading and managing a small team of Platform Engineers.

The Platform Engineering Lead will lead the charge in selecting, configuring, and supporting Cloud Platform components and tooling. Proficiency in cloud platforms (ideally GCP, but Azure or AWS is also fine), OSS (Operational Support Systems) and experience in the telecommunications industry is essential. An ability to self-manage in both Agile and traditional delivery approaches is a key asset.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in building, troubleshooting, and supporting infrastructure and cloud-based solutions. In addition to strong technical skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and an eye for detail, effective communication will be paramount for collaborating with stakeholders and mentoring team members.

Key Skills

• Commercial experience with cloud platforms (ideally GCP, but Azure or AWS is also fine)
• Experience in managing engineering teams in an Agile environment
• OSS (Operational Support Systems)
• Telecommunications industry experience
• Background in DevOps, Architecture or Software Engineering is an advantage
