Senior Software Engineer with strong commercial Machine Learning experience required for a defence & security Machine Learning company. As part of this role, you will be put through SC Clearance (and ideally, also DV clearance), so you must be eligible for these to apply. This role can be worked remotely from within the UK, however you must be able to travel to client sites when required (roughly 1 week every 2 months).
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working as part of a fantastic, up to date technical environment based around Machine Learning and AI, using Python. You will be client facing and therefore working on a range of innovation projects based around AI/ML, science, and data. Primary technologies used are Python, Typescript/JavaScript, and Kubernetes, as well as production use of ML, so a proficiency in these is required.
This is a Senior Software Engineer or Tech Lead level role, so some experience architecting scalable systems within a modern Devops environment is desirable.
Senior Software Engineer essential skills
- Minimum 5 years career experience, ideally using Python as your primary development language
- Commercial production experience with Machine Learning (ML) and AI is important
- Strong commercial experience with Typescript and JavaScript
- You must be comfortable with Kubernetes and the modern Devops environment
- No work permit holders are allowed as you need to be able to obtain SC and/or DV clearance - ideally you will be a UK national and you must have no criminal history
- You must be happy travelling to client sites occasionally - roughly 1 week every couple of months
- If you already hold SC or DV clearance that would be great!
There's a starting salary of £90,000-£95,000 plus shares/equity - and lots of other benefits including primarily remote working. There is a great flexible working setup as well, with core working hours, support for higher learning a generous holiday allowance (37 days) all part of the package.
