Data Modeller/Data Analyst with strong SQL - UN-client Nairobi (Contract)

Location: Nairobi, at least for initial 2 months Country: Kenya Rate: Market Rate

We are looking for one Data Modeller/Data Analyst with strong SQL to start from ASAP a 2-month contract (initial, as kind of probation, extensions possible) for an international Org'-client in Nairobi/Kenya, with possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability. The total contract period is envisioned at least 3-6 months. Our client is an international organisation and a great reference in any CV! English speaking environment.


We require a data modeller to be based for a period of 2 months in Nairobi, starting September, working closely with the field application development team and the operational data analyst on data related to three specific use cases:

  • School Meals: a digital solution that allows schools to manage school children's attendance and related data; manage the food inventory and cash (resources) and plan improved menus; while generating quality data for school feeding programme management and oversight.
  • Service Provision: a digital solution for UN-CLIENT partners in order to easily access the service catalog provided by UN-CLIENT country offices worldwide.
  • Smallholder Farmers: a digital solution for managing farmer cooperatives that work with UN-CLIENT, identifying the farmers within the cooperatives, and the crops that they are able to supply to UN-CLIENT operations.

Plus one Additional Activity to source and model data that will be coming from our new data collection platform used for survey-level data (mostly vulnerability assessments, and M&E work)

The modeller will receive relevant tools-related training from Palantir Engineering team, and will report to the Head of Field Application development based in Nairobi.


  • Experience in Foundry data pipeline implementation or the ability to be open to learning new data integration approach by Palantir. We look for fast learners who want to be hands-on in CLIENT's data integration platform, Palantir Foundry.
  • Ability to take on open-ended problems in unstructured environments and deliver quick results.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and problem-centric solution design.
  • Considerable experience working with a broad range of data collection, data mining, data discovery, ETL, and data cleansing.
  • Intermediate-advanced proficiency in using the programming language: SQL (must), ABAP, python, experience with R is a plus.
  • Experience in Business Intelligence (BI), Datamodelling, data extractions, and data load monitoring in one or more of these modules: Supply Chain Management (SCM), Logistics (LES), Materials Management (MM), Financial (FI), Funds Management (FM), Grants Management (GM) is a plus.
  • Experience convening workshop with business experts.
  • Apply an analytical approach with attention to detail, and consistently demonstrate problem-solving perspective.
